Picture a shimmering, blue Mediterranean sea with seagulls flying high, clear blue skies, sailing boats riding on the waves, an ancient observation tower and a sandy beach. This is the view you'll see whilst sitting on the terrace of Bahia Beach. This semi-circled building is built on a small raise on the beach between Sabinillas and Estepona and is a true jewel of tranquillity and beauty.
The restaurant is predominantly white and apart from the tables indoors and the many tables around the terrace, has a small elevated chill-out area where you can take your aperitif or digestif. Covered with white linen sails and decorated in blue and white, this restaurant exudes a true holiday feeling.
A greeting from the kitchen always precludes the meal and in our case it was deep-fried anchovies. They were gently dusted in a light batter and sprinkled with paprika. The Gazpacho, which followed was beautifully presented on a large compartmented, white plate containing the various ingredients to add to the cold, fresh soup.
The Bahia Salad is a generous portion of various leaf salads, beetroot, carrots, corn, onions, tuna and mussels.
As one of our main courses we had a perfectly grilled sole with a soft taste of butter, served with potato and vegetables.
Bahia Beach has several rice dishes (paellas) and we chose the one with chicken, boletus, mushrooms and Parmesan. Juicy and the rice was done "just right".
The house wines are excellent especially the rosé which is a Sumarocca from Peñedes.
At the end of the meal you are offered a complimentary glass of either a pacheran (sloe gin) or  an orujo de hierbas (a herbal liquor) In fact, you could take a second glass because the bottle are left on your table to help yourself!

Bahia Beach also offers breakfast in this beautiful setting and what better way could there be  to start your day?
