This restaurant is located in the beautiful area of Laguna Village. The first impression is that the restaurant itself isn’t facing the sea but you will be proven wrong. As well as a rooftop terrace the restaurant has an outdoor area away from the main dining room with sea views. Migele the owner, is an Italian married to a Spanish lady and consequently the food is an eclectic mix of Spanish and Italian. Complimentary olives are served with your generous drinks and we had the house white, an Italian Verdiccio, a Penedes Rosé and an Italian still water. Warm mini baguettes with an excellent extra virgin oil are served whilst you choose from the menu. There are several tables on the terrace as well as a bar, tables outside the restaurant and of course indoor dining for those rare wet days. The interior décor is unusual with ceiling paintings corresponding to wall paintings. We chose a Gazpacho as one of our starters. It was creamy and served with chopped tomatoes, cucumber and onions. Carpaccio of Bresaola was our second starter. Delicious dry beef thinly sliced with plenty of Parmesan shavings on rocket salad, drizzled with olive oil. Prawns in Martini was next, which was very unusual and somewhat sweet, served with rice. All the pasta is homemade and we had a plate of Spaghetti with chicory, ginger and goat’s cheese. A very tasty, different kind of pasta dish. There is a large variety of pizzas and also paella on the menu. Migele is an excellent host and certainly makes you feel welcome.
