Authentic Tapas Bar set in the middle of the old town in Marbella.
Set in a small plaza in the middle of the old town of Marbella, Bodeguita El Torero holds the magic and promise of what many imagine to be a Spanish bodega. As the name says, this is a small bodega typically decorated in Spanish style with bullfight posters, ceramic plates, ham hocks hanging behind the bar and Spanish music playing in the background. The tapa selection is small but every dish is worth trying as all are home made. The owners, Manolo and Esteban, have given great care to the choice of hams and sausages, ensuring that only top quality meats are offered. The Ensalada Russa, the Pimientos del Piquillo or the Tortilla, made by Manolos wife are very tasty and if they have Mojama (smoked tuna filet) or Rabo de Toro (Oxtail) as a special then do order it. There are in fact, always some dishes, which you will not find on the menu depending on the season, so check out the display fridge on the bar. There is a good choice of wines and spirits and beer is on tap. There are no desserts or coffee but these can be consumed in any one of the many cafés nearby. There are several table barrels and high chairs with sunshades outside and it is a wonderful place to sit and sip your wine, eat a few tapas and people watch. Esteban and Manolo are attentative, friendly and charming people who will make sure you feel at home and will always welcome you as friends, true to their Motto. Primero amigos - después clientes (first friends - then clients).
