COME IN AND ENJOY !!!!!
Although the location of this restaurant is new many people from Estepona will know Venezia from its previous location opposite Carrefour. Established in 1995, Venezia’s reputation grew by word of mouth due to its good food and homely atmosphere. On February 8th 2007 the new Venezia opened its doors in its new location in Estepona town close to the Policia Nacional. If anyone was afraid that the restaurant wouldn’t be able to uphold its popularity due to the move and change to a more posh decoration, then we can put their minds at rest. The new Venezia is truly wonderful. Big, bright, spacious and yet, still intimate, you have the feeling you’re entering a dining area in Paris or downtown Manhattan. The predominant colour is red, tastefully combined with grey, dark brown and mauve. Much thought and care has been put into the lighting and this underlines the high class ambience. Everything is classy except the prices. These are very down to earth and you get more than good value for your money which of course brings us on to the food.
Venezia has a wood fuelled pizza oven (the only restaurant within Estepona with one). These delicious pizzas have a thin base with generous toppings. An absolute must is the garlic bread a speciality of the house with lots of cheese and garlic in a pizza bread. The Canelone Lettuce are served in a most unusual way. Lettuce leaves rolled and filled with rice, salmon, tomato etc. Rice with special Mushrooms is deliciously creamy and make sure to eat the parsley with it. The Pasta - with walnuts, courgette, & salmon as well as the Panzerotti with salmon & crayfish are fingerlickingly good! The Meat Canelloni are made with pancake dough instead of pasta dough, giving the dish a semi sweet taste, very different! The Saltimboca a la Romana (meat rolled up with cheese and Serrano ham) is so tasty that it is hard to resist. Venezia also offers home made desserts and plenty of ice creams for the kids. The house wine comes from Valencia and is excellent and if you want a digestive, ask for a grappa. The house grappa is mild and just the right thing to round off an excellent meal. The service is friendly, attentative and very dedicated. As illustrated by the owner who told us ‘I sleep at home, I live here’. You might find yourself doing the same!
