A beautiful ambience awaits you in La Menorah and before you have even ordered your meal, a complimentary plate with huge olives, raw carrots and garlic has been placed in front of you. Every table has a bottle of old Spanish sherry vinegar and Gran Reserva olive oil so you can make your own dip for the crispy bread which is served. Jose Luis does have a menu but you probably won't get to see it, as he or one of his excellent waiters will come to your table and describe in detail what gourmet delights are available. We were served a variety of amazing appetizers, which they call Tapas, such as: Small mussels in garlic Sliced tuna with gazpacho cream on toast Paté de foie & Jamon Iberia with apple on toast Breaded aubergine roll filled with king-size prawn Shrimp tortilla Spinach, raisins and honey in filo pastry Squid on warm potato slices with a mayonnaise/mustard sauce topped with caviar and those are only starters!
Our main course was Iberian pork filet with a tomato sauce and chunky mashed potato. Great! The desserts are home-made and we had a small plate with a slice of cheese cake and some mint parfait. Excellent!!! The wine menu is extremely extensive and offers many treasures. La Menorah combines superb modern Spanish cuisine, first class wines, is well priced and provides delightful service an absolute MUST here on the coast.
