Nestled in the hillside urbanisation of  La Heredia, La Casita lays claim to the Spanish saying, "mi casa es tu casa" and when you approach this beautiful restaurant you will certainly feel like coming home. A covered patio enables almost all year outdoor seating and the inside dining room is cosy with typical Spanish furniture, warm terracotta painted walls and tea lights on each table.

Lawrence, owner and chef explained his credo to us - "good food, good prices for good people". This is definitely underlined by the eclectic cuisine offered. The best local produce, the best ingredients put together in the best dishes originating from Spain, Italy, France and Britain. Yes, you mainland European non-believers, Lawrence proves that British cuisine has excellent dishes to offer and La Casita is where you can find it at it's best. Just try the Fish 'n Chips, the Pie or the Rack of Lamb with Mint sauce and you will understand.

Jürgen and Frank, excellent hosts, will serve you with a smile and professionalism, ever ready to advise and answer questions. The trios' love for food and wine is clearly evident and the wine menu consists of hand picked (and tasted!) wines. The comments to each wine are informative and entertaining. Speaking of which, there are 2 house wines of each type (red, white, rosé) giving customers an ample choice with quality in this category. In addition to the main menu La Casita offers a daily changing small variety of dishes and selected limited wines. They even have a small humidor with a choice of Cuban cigars! A greeting is always sent from the kitchen whilst you are choosing your meal and in our case it was a shot glass filled with smooth Gazpacho topped with finely chopped egg and scallions. As a starter we had Gambas Al Pil-Pil with a thick chunk of homemade bread soaked with warm olive oil and herbs - yummy. Then Goats Cheese baked over caramelized Walnuts and cubes of Beetroot on Rocket Salad - hmmm and a Tartare of Fresh & Smoked Salmon with a delicate taste of orange - especially delicious. Our first main course was Pan-fried Duck Breast with a Confit Duck Leg, roasted Pumpkin, Sweet Shallot and natural Duck Jus. Then we had Boneless Suckling Pig on Bubble and Squeak - a traditional English side dish. Our third main course was surprisingly a salad. A tasty warm Nicoise with quails' eggs topping Salmon Carpaccio. All dishes are beautifully presented on wonderful plates.Whatever you do, make sure you leave room for one of their delectable homemade sweets, accompanied by one of the dessert wines. We had the finger lickingly good Treacle Tart with Vanilla Ice-cream. La Casita is definitely a wonderful restaurant where good food, good ambience and good service combine to a truly good experience.
