The Alhambra was built during the Moorish occupation as a fortress. However within ists walls is the beautiful Nasrid palace as well as the gardens of the Generalife, which are a maze of greenery and ponds. Tickets should be booked way in advance !!!!
The Albaicin is the oldest part of Granada and has a very special ambience. The tea houses are filled with students drinking tea. Narrow cobblestone streets lead up to the viewpoint San Nicholas from where you have a wonderful view across to the Alhambra.
